The best IPTV app for a home that mostly watches movies and series is the one that gives the library its own rooms: a Movies section, a Series section sorted by season and episode, a search box you can reach with the remote, and a favorites list that stays put. A Nartiel8k subscription is not an app at all. It is a standard Xtream Codes login you type into a player, so the player you pick decides how 120,000+ titles feel on the big screen. On Android TV, Google TV and Fire OS that usually means IPTV Smarters Pro for the library, with TiviMate beside it for live channels. On Apple hardware it means Smarters Player Lite or iPlayTV, and on a Samsung or LG set, a Smarters app or Smart IPTV.
Judge a player by how it handles tonight’s feature
Most write-ups about IPTV players start and finish with the channel guide. A library-first viewer spends the evening somewhere else: browsing categories, opening a series, picking up the second episode where it stopped. Look for these in any player before you get attached to it.
- Movies and series kept apart from live TV. After an Xtream login, a good player files films and series in their own sections, so the library is not buried under thousands of channel groups.
- Series laid out by season. Opening a series should show seasons, then numbered episodes in order, never a flat pile of files.
- Search inside the library. Spelling a title with arrow keys is slow; a player that shows matches after two or three letters saves real minutes on a Friday night.
- Favorites. A short list of what the household means to watch this week turns an enormous catalog into a shelf you can actually reach.
- Resume, where the player offers it. Some players remember where a film or an episode stopped. That point is kept by that player on that device and does not follow you into the bedroom.
- A decoder switch. Toggling between hardware and software decoding rescues the occasional title that stutters or plays without sound.
- A parental PIN, in players that offer one, for a family that shares a remote.
The main players side by side
| Player | Runs on | Films and series after an Xtream login | Live channels | Cost to you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IPTV Smarters Pro | Android TV, Google TV, Fire OS, Android phones, Windows; Samsung and LG where the store lists it | Separate Live TV, Movies and Series sections | A workable guide, plain layout | Free |
| Smarters Player Lite | Apple TV, iPhone, iPad | Live TV, movies and series kept apart | Basic guide | Free |
| TiviMate | Android TV, Google TV, Fire OS, Android boxes | Recent versions list movies and series; the layout still centers on channels | The strongest grid guide of the group | Free tier, paid Premium |
| Smart IPTV | Samsung 2022 and later (Tizen 6.5+), LG on webOS 3.0+ | Reads an M3U playlist, so titles tend to sit in groups inside the main list | Light and quick on TV hardware | Free week, then a one-time fee per TV |
| iPlayTV | Apple TV, iPhone, iPad only | Well presented; check how it files a large library during a trial | Clean and readable | One-off purchase |
| VLC | Nearly every computer, phone and tablet | No library layout; an M3U link plays as one long list | No real guide | Free |
Every player in that table is empty until you sign in, and none is made by the service you subscribe to, which is why one login moves between them freely.
IPTV Smarters Pro: the library gets its own front door
Sign in to IPTV Smarters Pro with the three Xtream details (server URL, username and password) and the home screen splits into Live TV, Movies and Series. Movies opens on a list of categories; choose one and the posters load in a grid. Series opens the same way, and each title unfolds into seasons and then numbered episodes, which is exactly what you want when the plan is episode two tonight and episode three tomorrow.
Search sits inside each section, so you look for a film among films rather than among channels. Titles can be saved to favorites from their detail screen, and depending on the version installed you may see a recently watched row and a prompt to resume something you stopped. Parental controls sit in the settings menu in the versions that include them. The weaker side is live television: the guide does its job but looks plain, and flicking between channels feels slower than in a player designed around them.
The Nartiel8k walkthrough for IPTV Smarters Pro covers each field of the sign-in screen and which settings to adjust before the first film.
TiviMate: the best seat in the house for live channels
TiviMate is an Android-only app, at home on Google TV and Android TV sets, on Fire OS sticks and on Android boxes. Apple, Samsung and LG owners cannot get it, and lookalike names in their stores belong to unrelated developers. On a compatible box it is the most comfortable way to watch live television, with a proper grid guide, quick channel changes and a layout that feels natural on a remote.
It was designed for live TV first. Recent versions show movies and series from an Xtream login, yet the experience still revolves around the channel list, so treat the library side as a bonus and look at it during a trial rather than choosing the app for it. TiviMate Premium is a paid upgrade, and you buy it on your phone through the separate TiviMate Companion app rather than on the TV. Premium unlocks recording, multi-view and more than one playlist, and both favorites and the option to hide channel groups sit on the Premium side too.
Our TiviMate setup guide for a Nartiel8k login shows where the playlist, the program guide and the Premium screens live.
Two players on one box is perfectly normal
A common arrangement on an Android TV box or a Fire TV Stick is Smarters for movie night and TiviMate for the game and the headlines, both signed in with the same details. A plan counts streams playing at the same moment, not apps installed, so two players on one device use a single connection whenever one of them is playing.
What does not cross over is anything the player keeps for you. Favorites, hidden groups, resume points and watch history belong to that player on that device. Pause a series halfway through an episode in Smarters on the living room TV, and neither TiviMate on the same box nor Smarters on the tablet will know. The habit is easy once you know it: finish a series in the player and on the screen where it began, or jot down the episode before you change rooms.
Samsung and LG televisions with nothing plugged in
For a bedroom or a guest room, a player from the TV’s own store is often all you need, and Smart IPTV is the long-standing choice. Samsung lists it for sets from 2022 onward (Tizen 6.5 and up), and LG televisions need webOS 3.0 as a minimum. There is no sign-in screen. Instead a MAC address appears on the TV; on a laptop or phone you open the Smart IPTV site, attach your M3U link to that address, and the set loads the playlist the next time the app opens. After a free week it asks for a one-time activation fee for that TV, which goes to the app’s maker, not to your IPTV provider.
Because Smart IPTV works from an M3U playlist, the library tends to arrive as long groups in the same list as the channels rather than as separate shelves for films and series. If your model’s store also lists a Smarters app, try it next to Smart IPTV, since an Xtream login there brings back the dedicated Movies and Series sections. Reinstalling the app or resetting the TV clears the uploaded playlist. The Smart IPTV upload steps walk through the website part.
Apple TV, iPhone and iPad
Apple devices do not allow sideloading, so the choice is whatever the App Store carries. The free Smarters app there is called Smarters Player Lite; it takes an Xtream login and keeps live channels, movies and series apart much as the Android version does. iPlayTV exists only on Apple devices, costs a one-off purchase and has the more polished interface, which is worth weighing if the Apple TV drives the main screen in the house. TiviMate does not exist on Apple in any form, whatever a lookalike listing suggests.
An Apple TV 4K has one setting worth changing before a film night. Under Settings, Video and Audio, turn on Match Content for both dynamic range and frame rate, so the box can switch its output to suit what is playing instead of converting everything to a single format.
Xtream login or M3U link: choose the one that keeps the shelves
Most players accept either form, and for a library-first household the choice is not cosmetic. An Xtream login lets the player request live channels, films and series separately and fetch the program guide by itself. An M3U link, a get.php address carrying your username and password, is one long playlist; plenty of players show it as channel groups, and the guide has to be added as a separate xmltv.php address. VLC on a computer opens that link in seconds, which makes it a handy test bench, but with no posters, seasons or favorites it is no way to browse a film library. When a player offers both forms, choose Xtream. The page explaining what each field of an Xtream Codes login means lists the three values and where people usually mistype them.
What the app controls in the picture, and what it does not
A player decodes what the server sends; it cannot invent detail that was never there. A 4K film looks the part when the title exists in 4K, the device can decode it (4K titles are commonly HEVC, which older sticks handle badly) and the TV sits in a sensible picture mode. HDR also needs the title, the player and the panel to agree, and when one of them does not, you get a flat or washed-out image rather than an error. Wire the main TV’s device to the router for 4K titles where you can, pick the movie or filmmaker mode for films, and if one title stutters while others play smoothly, flip the player’s decoder between hardware and software first. The page on 4K titles and channels covers the rest of the setup.
A first evening with a new player
Any of these apps can be judged in a single evening, on the screen you really use.
- Sign in with the Xtream details and let the library finish loading; the first load of a large catalog can take a minute or two.
- Open Movies, choose a category and count how long it takes to reach a film somebody in the room would actually pick.
- Search for a title by its first few letters and see how quickly results appear.
- Save three favorites, then start a series episode, stop it after ten minutes, close the app and reopen it: are the favorites there, and does it offer to resume?
- Play one 4K title on the main TV, then a live channel in the evening when the house is busiest.
The 24-hour Nartiel8k free trial is long enough to run that list in two players and keep whichever one your household prefers.
The quick answer, device by device
- Fire TV Stick on Fire OS, Android TV or Google TV: IPTV Smarters Pro for the library, TiviMate for live channels. The Fire TV Stick 4K Select runs Vega OS and cannot sideload, so check the Amazon store for a player before counting on one.
- Apple TV, iPhone or iPad: Smarters Player Lite to begin with, iPlayTV if the Apple TV is the main screen.
- Samsung or LG with nothing attached: a Smarters app where your model’s store lists it, Smart IPTV otherwise.
- Roku: no sideloading and very few players, so a separate stick on a spare HDMI port is the practical answer.
- A computer: VLC to test a link, Smarters on Windows to watch.

Quick answers on this topic
Which IPTV app is best for watching movies and series?
IPTV Smarters Pro, on most devices. After an Xtream Codes login it shows separate Live TV, Movies and Series sections, with series sorted into seasons and episodes, search inside each section and a favorites list. On Apple devices the free equivalent is Smarters Player Lite, with iPlayTV as the more polished paid option. TiviMate is the better choice for live channels than for browsing a film library.
Does TiviMate show movies and series?
Recent versions do list movies and series from an Xtream login, but TiviMate is built around live TV and its program guide, so the library side is less developed than in a player with dedicated sections. Plenty of households run TiviMate for live channels and IPTV Smarters Pro for films on the same Android box, signed in with the same details.
Is there a Nartiel8k app to download?
No. Nartiel8k does not make an app, and any APK claiming to be one should not be installed. Your subscription is a login: a server URL, username and password, plus an M3U link, sent to you in the WhatsApp chat. You enter it in a third-party player such as IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate, Smart IPTV or iPlayTV, whichever runs on your screen.
Can I use one IPTV login in two different apps?
Yes, in as many players and on as many devices as you like. A plan limits the number of streams running simultaneously, not installs. Two apps on one TV use one connection while either of them is playing. Favorites, hidden groups and resume points stay inside each app, so whatever you save in one will not appear in the other.
Why doesn't my series resume on another device?
Because the resume point is saved by the player on the device where you stopped, not in an online account. Pause an episode in Smarters on the living room TV and the tablet has no record of it. Finish a series on the screen where you started it, or note the episode and the minute before you switch rooms.
Which IPTV app works on Apple TV?
Smarters Player Lite, the free Smarters app in Apple's store, and iPlayTV, an Apple-only paid app with a more polished interface. Both accept a standard Xtream login. TiviMate is not available on Apple TV, iPhone or iPad, and apps with similar names are made by other developers. Apple devices do not allow sideloading, so the App Store is the only source.
Tonight’s feature is one message away
Pick a plan and send it in WhatsApp; the login comes back in that chat in under 15 minutes. It opens 120,000+ movies and series and 25,000+ live channels, with your money back if you ask within 7 days.
