Nartiel8k – Your screening room at home: 120,000+ movies and series, plus live TV

Put Nartiel8k on an LG TV and browse it with the pointer

Nartiel8k on an LG Smart TV runs inside webOS with no box attached, and LG adds one tool the other platforms lack for a big movie library: the Magic Remote, which points at the screen like a mouse and scrolls a shelf with its wheel. The panels decode 4K HEVC and show HDR10, and LG OLED and many other models also show Dolby Vision. A player comes from LG’s own app store, takes your login once, and the rest of the evening goes on choosing a film.

Before the opening credits

  • An LG Smart TV on webOS; Smart IPTV needs webOS 3.0 or later
  • An LG account, if the Content Store asks for one
  • Your Nartiel8k Xtream login, or the M3U link for Smart IPTV
  • The Magic Remote, or a standard LG remote with arrow keys
  • A phone or laptop for the Smart IPTV playlist upload

One thing to know first: there is no Nartiel8k app to hunt for. The subscription is a login, and any player in these guides accepts it. Not subscribed yet? Ask for the 24-hour Nartiel8k trial, or see what each plan length costs.

Eight moves from the home screen to the first feature

  1. Choose the player for a library

IPTV Smarters Pro is the LG player for a movie-and-series household: an Xtream Codes login gives it Live TV, Movies and Series as separate sections, with categories, search and season lists. Smart IPTV handles live channels well from an M3U link but treats everything as one list of groups, and charges a one-off fee per television after its trial. Both are in the LG Content Store. TiviMate is not, because it exists only for Android devices.

Choose a plan before you start

  2. Read the webOS version

In the full settings menu, look for About This TV or TV Information; on some years it sits under General, on others under Support. That page lists the webOS or software version. Any set on webOS 3.0 or later, roughly the 2016 models onward, runs Smart IPTV. IPTV Smarters Pro is offered for current webOS releases in most countries.

  3. Get the player onto the television

From the Home button, choose LG Content Store, which newer menus label simply Apps, then the magnifier. Type the player’s name, open its page, choose Install and then Launch. Signing in to an LG account, if prompted, happens once; the TV keeps the session for updates.

  4. Smarters route: sign in with Xtream Codes

Pick Login with Xtream Codes API, then key in the three details exactly as sent, http:// and port included. Pointing at the on-screen keys with the Magic Remote is much quicker than walking a cursor across the keyboard with arrows. Save, then wait while the movie and series catalogs sync, which takes a minute or two the first time.

  5. Smart IPTV route: upload the M3U link to the MAC

Smart IPTV opens on a screen showing the television’s MAC address and the address of its upload page. From a phone, open that page, type the MAC with care, paste the M3U link from the chat and send it. Restart the app on the TV and the channel groups appear. Keep a note of the MAC for any future reinstall.

  6. Learn the shelf with the Magic Remote

Point at a category, roll the wheel to move down the posters, and press the wheel to open a title. Pressing any arrow key hides the pointer and switches to step-by-step movement, which some players handle more smoothly; move or shake the remote and the pointer returns. Add tonight’s pick and the next two to favorites, so the next evening starts from a short row.

  7. Picture mode for films

In Settings, Picture, Picture Mode, choose Filmmaker Mode where it is listed, otherwise Cinema. In the advanced or clarity settings, turn TruMotion off so films keep their native motion. When a title arrives in HDR or Dolby Vision, the television swaps to the matching version of the mode by itself, so there is nothing to change per film.

  8. Verify: a 4K film, then a live channel

Play a film from a 4K category for two minutes; on many LG sets a small HDR or Dolby Vision badge appears in a corner as the title starts, a quick sign of what the panel is receiving. Then open Live TV and play a channel you know for two more minutes, changing channel once or twice. Clean on both and the LG is ready for movie night.

LG Smart TV troubleshooting, symptom by symptom

The Content Store search finds no IPTV player

Older webOS versions, and some countries, are offered a shorter list. If the set is on webOS 3.0 or later, Smart IPTV should be there; if nothing suitable appears, plug a streaming stick into a free HDMI input. Do not change the television’s country setting to reach another store, which can break other apps.

The pointer vanished and the remote seems dead

An arrow press hides the pointer; move the remote and it returns. If nothing responds at all, check the batteries, then re-pair: on most Magic Remotes, hold Home and Back together for five seconds, then point at the TV and press the wheel.

Smart IPTV loads an empty list

Check the MAC on the upload page character by character, since a MAC uses only digits and the letters A to F, and confirm the pasted link has no space at its end. Upload again, then close and reopen the app rather than waiting for it to refresh.

Sound plays but the picture stays black on certain films

That file uses a format the player cannot hand to the TV’s decoder. Look for the same title in another quality on the shelf, or open it in the other player. If several titles do it, a stick with its own decoder settles the matter.

Films look like daytime television, too smooth

TruMotion is on. Switch it off in the picture settings, or choose Filmmaker Mode, which disables it along with most other processing.

An HDR film looks very dark in the afternoon

HDR is mastered for a dim room, so a bright living room swallows the shadows. Close the curtains, or for daytime viewing choose a brighter mode such as Cinema Home where your set lists it, and save Filmmaker Mode for the evening.

Still stuck after these? Photograph the screen and send it to support on WhatsApp; a picture of the exact message saves ten minutes of describing it.

LG Smart TV questions, answered for Nartiel8k viewers

Does Nartiel8k work on LG TVs?

Yes, on LG Smart TVs running webOS, through IPTV Smarters Pro or Smart IPTV from LG’s own store, with no extra box. For Smart IPTV the set must be on webOS 3.0 or newer, true of most LG models since 2016.

Is there a Nartiel8k app in the LG Content Store?

No. Nartiel8k is a login, not an app; you install a player from the store and type your details into it. Any listing that uses the name is not ours.

Is TiviMate available for LG televisions?

It is not: the app is made for Android alone, so the LG Content Store does not carry it. If you want TiviMate on that screen, plug an Android-based stick into a free HDMI input and follow the matching guide; the built-in LG players need nothing extra.

Do I need the Magic Remote?

No, the arrow keys on a standard LG remote work in every step. The Magic Remote is simply quicker for typing the login and for scrolling long movie categories, because you point and roll the wheel instead of pressing a key per poster.

Which LG TVs run Smart IPTV?

Models on webOS 3.0 or later, which in practice means sets from about 2016 onward. Check the version under About This TV in the settings. Older LG sets can still use Nartiel8k through a stick in an HDMI port.
