Nartiel8k – Your screening room at home: 120,000+ movies and series, plus live TV

Install Nartiel8k on Apple TV 4K, iPhone and iPad

Nartiel8k on Apple hardware goes through the App Store and nowhere else, because Apple allows no sideloading. For movie night that is no hardship on an Apple TV 4K: it decodes 4K HEVC, shows Dolby Vision and HDR10, adds HDR10+ on the 2022 model, and can match each film’s frame rate and dynamic range. The free player is Smarters Player Lite, iPlayTV is the paid Apple-only alternative, and the same login also covers the iPhone and iPad you carry.

Before the opening credits

  • An Apple TV 4K (an Apple TV HD works at 1080p), or an iPhone or iPad kept up to date
  • Your Apple ID, for the App Store download
  • Your Nartiel8k username, password and server URL
  • The WhatsApp chat on your iPhone, for copying the details across

One thing to know first: there is no Nartiel8k app to hunt for. The subscription is a login, and any player in these guides accepts it. Not subscribed yet? Ask for the 24-hour Nartiel8k trial, or see what each plan length costs.

Seven moves from the home screen to the first feature

  1. Choose Smarters Player Lite or iPlayTV

Smarters Player Lite is free and, with an Xtream Codes login, lays out live channels, movies and series in separate sections, which is what a large library needs. iPlayTV costs money and exists only on Apple hardware, with a more polished interface on the television. Start with Smarters Player Lite; if you outgrow it, the same login goes straight into iPlayTV. TiviMate has no Apple version, so any listing that resembles it is a different product.

Choose a plan before you start

  2. Tell the Apple TV to match each film

Before installing anything, find the Match Content section inside Video and Audio in the Apple TV’s Settings app, and switch on Match Frame Rate as well as Match Dynamic Range. With Format left at 4K SDR, which Apple suggests for most televisions, the box switches into Dolby Vision or HDR10 only when a title carries it, and into 24 frames for a film shot that way. Menus and ordinary titles stay in standard range, so their colors stay natural.

  3. Download the player

On the Apple TV, the App Store has a Search tab at the top; type the player’s name there. The iPhone and iPad version of the store works the same way. Open the listing, check the developer name, choose Get and confirm with your Apple ID. Look-alike players with similar icons are common, so the developer line on the listing is worth the extra glance.

  4. Sign in with the Xtream details

Choose the Xtream Codes option, give the profile any name, and complete the three login fields. On an iPhone, copy each value from the WhatsApp chat and paste it, which avoids typing mistakes. On the Apple TV, the Apple TV Remote in your iPhone’s Control Center brings up a phone keyboard for these fields, far quicker than picking letters on the TV screen.

  5. Find tonight’s film and keep a shortlist

Once the catalog has synced, open Movies, browse a category or use search, and add the evening’s choice to favorites. A series opens into seasons and episodes in order. Where the player keeps a resume point, it keeps it on that device only, so an episode started on the iPad begins from the top on the Apple TV unless you skip to the minute yourself.

  6. Send the phone picture to the TV when it suits you

On an iPhone or iPad, the AirPlay icon in a player’s video controls sends the film to the Apple TV, where the player supports it. Screen Mirroring in Control Center works with any app but shows the phone’s whole screen and keeps the phone busy. For a full feature, playing it in the Apple TV’s own player gives the better picture and frees your phone.

  7. Verify: a 4K film and a live channel on the Apple TV

Play two minutes of a film from a 4K category and watch the TV change mode: with Match Dynamic Range on, a Dolby Vision or HDR10 title switches the television into that mode and a standard title does not. Then play a familiar live channel and change channel twice. Both clean means the Apple TV is ready, and the iPhone setup takes another two minutes with the same details.

Apple TV and iPhone troubleshooting, symptom by symptom

The login is refused although the details look right

iOS capitalizes the first letter of a typed field and sometimes adds a space after a pasted word. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive, so check the first character against the chat and delete any trailing space, then save again.

The screen blinks black when a film starts

That is Match Content switching the television into the right mode for the title. It takes a second or two and is a sign the setting works. Turning Match Frame Rate off removes the blink but brings back judder on films.

Every title looks too bright or too dim

Format is probably set to 4K HDR or 4K Dolby Vision, which pushes menus and standard titles into HDR. Set Format to 4K SDR with Match Dynamic Range on, and the Apple TV changes mode only for titles that carry HDR.

A channel plays on the iPhone but not on the Apple TV

If your player offers a stream format choice in its settings, switch between HLS and MPEG-TS on the Apple TV and try again. Apple devices handle HLS natively, and one format or the other usually resolves a channel that refuses on one device but not another.

There is no AirPlay icon in the player

That player does not support AirPlay for its video. Use Screen Mirroring from Control Center instead, or install the player on the Apple TV itself, which gives the better picture anyway.

The Apple TV will not show 4K

Check the model: the Apple TV HD outputs 1080p at most. On an Apple TV 4K, open Settings, Video and Audio, Format and make sure 4K is selected, and confirm the TV input it is plugged into accepts 4K HDR.

Still stuck after these? Photograph the screen and send it to support on WhatsApp; a picture of the exact message saves ten minutes of describing it.

Apple TV and iPhone questions, answered for Nartiel8k viewers

Is there a Nartiel8k app on the App Store?

No. Nartiel8k is a login, not an app. On Apple devices you install Smarters Player Lite or iPlayTV and type in the username, password and server URL from WhatsApp. Any App Store listing using the Nartiel8k name did not come from us.

Is the Smarters player on Apple TV free?

Yes. On Apple devices the free version is called Smarters Player Lite, on the App Store for Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. It accepts an Xtream Codes login and shows live channels, movies and series in separate sections.

Can I use TiviMate on Apple TV or iPhone?

No. TiviMate is made only for Android devices, so it has no Apple version. On Apple hardware use Smarters Player Lite or the paid iPlayTV, both of which accept the same Nartiel8k login.

Can the iPhone and the Apple TV play Nartiel8k at the same time?

Yes, with a plan that has two connections. Both devices can be signed in on any plan, but one connection plays on one screen at a time. Two connections cost $25 for a month or $119 for 12 months.

Does Nartiel8k play on a Mac too?

It does. Smarters Player Lite is in the Mac App Store, and VLC plays the M3U link. The Nartiel8k guide for Windows PC and Mac walks through both, including putting a laptop on the TV by HDMI.
