Before the opening credits

Seven moves from the home screen to the first feature
Choose the route: portal or Xtream
A MAG leaves you nothing to choose, because the portal is the only language it speaks and the MAC address acts as the account key. A Formuler can go either way inside MyTVOnline. The portal makes it behave like a MAG, bound to that single box. The Xtream login keeps the account portable, since the same username and password open it in any other player later. If you are unsure, say in the WhatsApp chat which box you have and which route you prefer, and the matching details come back.
Read the MAC off the box and send it
Turn the box over: the MAC sits on the sticker, and the same value appears on the information screen in the settings menu. On a MAG it always opens with 00:1A:79. Photograph the sticker and send the picture rather than retyping twelve characters, since one swapped character registers a box that does not exist. Hold off on everything else until the reply confirms the MAC is active and hands you the portal URL.
MAG: type the portal into Portal 1
From the MAG settings, go to System settings, then Servers, then Portals. Fill the Portal 1 name with anything you like, such as the name of the room, and the Portal 1 URL with the address from the chat, character for character. Save with OK, leave the menu and restart the box. The portal is only fetched at boot, so nothing changes on screen until that restart.
Formuler: set it up in MyTVOnline
From the Formuler home screen, launch MyTVOnline 2 or 3. For the portal route, select Add Portal, type any label you like and then the portal URL; the same screen shows the MAC that MyTVOnline reports, which is the one that has to be registered. For the Xtream route, pick the Xtream Codes option instead and type the server URL, username and password. Either way, let the first download run to the end before pressing anything.
Find where the library lives
The portal opens on live TV, but the movies and series have a section of their own: many MAG portals label it Video Club, and MyTVOnline gives on-demand titles separate tiles, usually VOD and Series depending on the version. Inside, categories split the shelf by genre, language and collection, and a series opens into seasons and then episodes. With 120,000+ titles behind those tiles, use the search inside the section instead of paging through a category one screen at a time.
Match the picture to the television
On a 4K set, open the video output setting (on a MAG it sits in the system settings, on a Formuler in the Android display options) and choose the panel’s native resolution if the picture looks soft on automatic. If younger viewers share the room, set a parental PIN on the adult categories now, if your portal or MyTVOnline version offers one, rather than in the middle of a family movie night.
Play a title, then tune a channel
Open the on-demand section, start any title from a category you care about and let it run for a couple of minutes, then skip to the middle to check that seeking works. Back out to live TV and tune a news channel followed by a sports channel. When both start within a few seconds and the info bar shows what is on, the box is finished. Write down the MAC and the portal URL for the day the box needs a factory reset.

The portal answers but refuses the box
A message from the portal itself means the URL is right and the MAC is the problem: the one registered at our end does not match the box. Compare the photo you sent with the MAC on the information screen, watching for 0 against O and 8 against B. Send the corrected value and restart once the chat confirms the change.
The box boots to its own menu instead of the portal
The portal address was not saved or carries a stray character. Go back to Servers, then Portals, check that Portal 1 holds the complete address with no space at the end, save with OK and restart. If an old address is still parked in Portal 2, clear it so there is only one address for the box to load.
MyTVOnline shows channels, but the VOD tile is empty
This usually means the account went in as an M3U playlist instead of a portal or Xtream entry. Remove that entry in MyTVOnline, add it again through Add Portal or the Xtream Codes option, and let it sync. The movie and series tiles fill once the first download completes.
A movie stops at the same minute every time
Try a second title. If that one plays through, the first file has a fault on our side, so send its name and the minute in the chat. If every title stalls after a few minutes while live channels carry on, look at the connection: a 4K file can ask more of the line than an HD channel, and a box on Wi-Fi is the usual cause. Run the cable.
Listings sit an hour away from what is playing
The box clock decides where the guide lines up. Set the time zone on a MAG in its system settings, or on a Formuler in the Android date and time settings, then restart. The portal follows the box, so fixing the clock fixes the listings.

Yes. It runs on MAG boxes through a portal URL registered to the box’s MAC address, which on a MAG always starts with 00:1A:79. Which app does a Formuler use for Nartiel8k?

Is a dedicated box worth it for movie nights?
For the main living-room screen it is a strong choice: wired, quick to boot straight into television, and driven by a remote made for long lists. Can I move my Nartiel8k portal to a new box?
Yes, but a portal account belongs to one MAC, so the new box has to be registered in place of the old one. Send the new MAC in the chat; the old box stops loading the portal once the switch is made. On a Formuler that uses the Xtream route there is nothing to re-register: type the same three details into the new device.
Do I still need a username and password with a MAG?
Not on the MAG itself, which never asks for them; the MAC does that job. Keep them anyway. A tablet, phone or second television in the house signs in with those details in a player such as IPTV Smarters Pro, and the Xtream Codes login guide explains which line goes in which field.
How do I find a film fast on the box?
Go into the on-demand section first, then use its search with one distinctive word from the title; paging through a category of thousands with a remote is slow on any box.
