Eight moves from the home screen to the first feature
Choose the player before you type anything
Decide where the login goes first. For browsing a movie-and-series library, start with a player that gives the account separate Movies and Series sections, such as IPTV Smarters Pro. For live TV and a channel grid on Android, TiviMate. On a Formuler, MyTVOnline. The same three details work in all of them, so the choice can change later without asking for anything new.
Read the three lines in the message
The server URL starts with http:// and ends with a colon and a port number. The username and the password follow, and both are case sensitive. Below them sits an M3U link, which carries the same account for players that want a playlist; leave it aside unless the player has no Xtream option.
Open the Xtream option in the player
Players word it differently. Smarters says Login with Xtream Codes API; TiviMate puts Xtream Codes login under Add playlist; many others shorten it to Xtream or API. When a player offers both an Xtream entry and an M3U entry, the Xtream one is the right choice for the library.
Enter the server URL first
Type it exactly, from the http:// to the last digit of the port, with nothing after it: no slash, no space, no extra path. This one field causes most refused logins, so type it by hand rather than pasting from the chat, where a hidden space can come along with it.
Add the username and password
Enter them as written, capitals included; some TV keyboards capitalize the first letter on their own, so check before saving. The profile or playlist name is a label only. Naming it after the room helps when several televisions share one plan.
Let the account sync
Saving starts three downloads: the live channels, the program guide and the catalog of 120,000+ movies and series. The Movies section can be the last to fill because the catalog is the largest. Do not cancel or restart during that first sync.
Store the three lines safely
Keep them in a password manager or a locked note on your phone. They are the whole account: whoever holds them can watch on your connections, and you will need them each time a new device joins. If you think they have been shared, say so in the chat.
Confirm the login opened everything
Open the Movies section and start a title, open Series and choose an episode, then tune a live channel. If all three play, the login is complete. If live TV works and Movies is empty, the account went in as a playlist instead of an Xtream login: remove it and add it again through the Xtream option.
Xtream Codes troubleshooting, symptom by symptom
The player calls the login invalid
Check the server URL before anything else: the http:// left off the front, the port left off the end, or a stray slash or space after the port. Then look at the username for a capital letter the keyboard changed. If both look right, send a photo of the filled-in screen in the chat so it can be compared against the account.
The login works, then reports the account expired
Plans run to the date they were bought up to and never renew by themselves, so this appears on the last day of a term. Order another term in the WhatsApp chat; the same username and password work again within minutes, with nothing to retype on any device.
A second screen is refused while the first one plays
The plan counts streams playing at the same moment. On a one-connection plan, a second screen is refused, or stops the first, depending on the player. Stop playback on the other screen, or move to a plan with more connections.
The player only has a field for an M3U URL
Some older or simpler players accept nothing but a playlist. In that case the M3U link in the same message is the answer; it is the same account in playlist form, and the M3U guide shows where it goes in VLC, Kodi and Smart IPTV.
It works on the phone but not on the television
The TV keyboard is the usual suspect: a dot that became a comma, a capital that was lost, a port digit typed twice. Retype slowly, or use a phone keyboard app for the TV where the platform offers one.
